Almost the world — over3 billion people — live on less than $2.50a day. Governments around the world have done their best to alleviate the poverty rate in their countries but much of anti-poverty policy has failed over the years because of an inadequate understanding of poverty. The poverty problem is a multi-dimension and cross-sectoral problem that should be tackled comprehensively. Therefore it is important to formulate the comprehensive approach in the effortto alleviate poverty in the world. Although Indonesia has made some progressin addressing absolute poverty, some challenges re-main to be addressed such as vulnerability of the poor, region inequality and accessto basic services
